Intelligent Software's Technology

What are Intelligent Agents?

Intelligent Agents are autonomous software programs which are based on the human cognitive model, and can therefore intelligently perform complex tasks on their own. They have their own goals that they need to achieve, and may take the initiative to achieve them. Upon failure in achieving a goal, agents may try alternatives.

Agents may react to changes in the environment, altering their goals and behaviours appropriately. Agents' ability to respond to failure and environment dynamics increases software robustness. Agents are able to interact and cooperate with other agents in order to achieve their goals.

Today's applications involve complex social systems in an open, human-centric and dynamic environment. Whether for simulating or automating these complex real world systems, agents provide a suitable software paradigm to address these complex problems, enabling practical software solutions at a reasonable cost.

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the science and engineering behind developing machines that can automate tasks requiring intelligent behaviour.

It includes planning, logic reasoning and learning. AI techniques can be used to find optimal/good solutions to problems, which may be difficult for humans. For example, finding the shortest path between two locations on a map can take considerable time for humans (for a large problem), but a well designed AI program may only take seconds!

AI is ideal for optimising business processes and tasks, as well as improving decision making, in order to reduce costs and facilitate better business practices.

Simulation

Intelligent Software’s advanced simulation technology provides Behavioural Business Intelligence as an effective tool for strategic analysis and training.

Simulation for analysis involves modelling, executing and studying physical or social systems to gain insight into the system’s functioning. Intelligent Software’s simulation software can test “what-if” scenarios and fine-tune current or proposed systems before large investments are made. This produces better strategic and operational decisions.

Training simulation produces a virtual representation of a physical training environment. These environments can model real-world, worst-case scenarios that are otherwise impractical, costly or dangerous to trainees. Intelligent Software can embed intelligent behaviour into simulations to provide an easy-to-use and realistic training environment.

SIMULAIT

Intelligent Software's advanced simulation platform SIMULAIT can create virtual replicas of complex physical and social systems for predictive analysis and training. Individual software agents can represent and mimic the many components of the real world in a virtual simulation. Simulating these many heterogeneous and interacting components enables decision makers to observe the complex emergent behaviours within a system.

Optimisation

Optimisation is the process of finding the best solution for a particular problem. Intelligent Software develops customised software to optimise or improve components of a system or business process, resulting in better decision making, efficient use of resources, and reduced costs.

Computers can optimise problems which humans find difficult or tedious, such as resource allocation, scheduling and routing.

Automation

Intelligent agents can be used to automate and integrate distributed systems and processes. Automation facilitates stream-lining of military and business operations, reducing complexity of open networked environments, and improving decision making within these systems. Our advanced technology allows the development of software that can mimic intelligent human behaviours, and thereby automate complex tasks and their collective interactions.
